This is a small detail from a larger painting "Magic Repository". 70x70cm oil on linen. It is, for me, an important ingredient at Christmas. The smell of spruce. I live in Norway, of course we have a lot of spruce - preferably in the forest these days - as the artificial trees are taking over more and more. But enjoy the fruits of the tree - the cones - THAT I can. (even though this is from our beautiful pines.)

I got a gift from a beautiful girl in Japan. Wonderful handmade paper. I have, to her honor, painted two dancing cranes. The papir has two leaves together, to let you see that it is better to be together. Cranes have a wonderful symbolism. Honor, good fortune, loyalty, and longevity. They also are said to carry the dead to their afterlife. And they are family-birds that stays together. So this little picture is full of LOVE
